मेरठ ज़िले के पोहल्ली गाँव में कई दलितों ज़मीनें कुछ दबंगों द्वारा क़ब्ज़ाई जा रही है। गाँव के दलित अपनी ज़मीनें छुड़वाने की ज़बरदस्त आंदोलन की तैयारी में हैं। चलचित्र अभियान की एक रिपोर्ट।

Lands belonging to Dalits in Pohalli village of Meerut district have been illegally occupied by people from dominant castes. Dalits from the village are preparing for a massive movement to free their lands.

दो हफ़्ते पहले चलचित्र अभियान ने शामली ज़िले के बंतीखेड़ा गाँव में दलितों की ज़मीनों पर गौशाला के नाम पर कब्ज़ा होते हुए दिखाया। इस दौरान गाँव के दलितों ने प्रशासन के सामने इस मुद्दे को रखा। इसके बावजूद दलितों की ज़मीनों पर अब, गाँव की दबंग जाती के प्रधान
के आदेशों अनुसार गौशाला का निर्माण कार्य शुरू हो गया है।

सहारनपुर के उमरी गाँव में दलितों को मिले सरकारी पट्टे गाँव के दबंग हड़पने की कोशिश हो रही है। गाँव में कई बार पट्टों के चलते पहले भी हिंसा हो चुकी है। प्रशासन दलितों की मदद के लिए कुछ नही कर रहा है।

There have been constant attempts at forcefully grabbing plots of lands allotted to Dalits in Umri Village of Saharanpur district. The administration isn't doing anything to help the Dalits.

30 वर्षिय जयन्ती बुरुदा ओडीसा राज्य के मालकानगिरी जिले के ग्राम सोरपाली की रहने वाली है। यह कोया आदिवासी समुदाय से है इनकी पढ़ाई एम- ए पत्रकारिता कोर्स किया है। जयन्ती अपनें इलाके कि पहली लड़की है जो कालिंगा टीवी चैनल की पत्रकार बन कर अपने इलाके कि खबरों को उजागर कर रही है। पर्ंतु उसकी खबरें बहुत कम चैन की जाती हैं इस लिए वह अपनें को कमजोर मानती है। जयन्ती कहती है की पुरूषों के बीच काम करती है कमी होने पर भी वह अपनी बात को नहीं कह पाती है।समाज और अपनें समुदाये से भी काफी खरी खोटी सुननी पडी़ हैं घर से निकल कर।जयन्ती को मिला कर उसके ग्यारह भाई बहन हैं पापा खेती का काम करते हैं।

जसिन्ता झांरखण्ड राज्य के रांची शहर के खोरहाटोली की रहने वाली आदिवासी समुदाय से हैं।इसको कविताएं लिखनें का बहुत शौक है ।इसकी कवितायें कई भाषा में अनुवाद भी किया गया है।यह एक पत्रकार भी है ,साथ ही कहानी लिखने का भी शौक रखती है। यह लगभग चार साल से यह सब काम कर रही है।

The second workshop of our lives of land project featured two women journalists from India's 'untouchable' Dalit castes. The journalists Meera and Shyamkali recorded video stories of two other workshop participants: the indigenous Adivasi poet Jacinta Kerketta, and indigenous reporter Jayanti Buruda. Struggles for land and resources, and struggles for agency in a patriarchal and hierarchical context unite these women from different parts of India.

I Will Save My Land | Radhika Menon (Tulika)

Tulika is India's leading publisher of multi-lingual books for children. We heard from them how diverse conceptions of land and nature are woven into stories for a younger audience, and how there is scope for more such writing. The Project PI is collaborating with Tulika to produce a book for children that will incorporate many of the themes explored in our workshops.
